Sama/ Barnyard millet/ samak ke chawal and sago( sabudana) are use in fasting ( vrat).
Ingredients and spices that need to be Prepare to make Farali Dhokla:
- 1 1/4 cup sama rice flour (ready available)
- 1/4 cup sago
- 3/4 cup curd/ dahi
- To taste Sendha namak
- 2 tsp green chillies ginger paste
- 1/2 tsp soda bi carb/ or lemon juice you can use
- 1 tsp oil
- For tempering :
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
- Few curry leaves
- 2-3 red/ green chillies
Instructions to make to make Farali Dhokla
- Grind sago in mixer jar to little coarse powder. Transfer in mixing bowl. Add sama rice flour and curd. Mix well.(If you don't get sama rice flour..you can grind 1 cup of Sama rice to make coarse powder).

- Mix well,add 1/2 cup of water to make dhokla batter consistency. Keep cover for 20 minutes.

- Grease thali with oil for steaming dhokla. Pour 2-3 glasses add of water in steam vessel,in place stand. Place grease thali on stand. Add green chillies paste, sendha namak, oil,soda bi carb in dhokla batter. Mix gently. (If needed to add more water if batter is thick,add before adding soda bi carb).

- Pour in grease thali,cover and steam for 20 minutes.

- In tadka pan add heat oil. Add cummin seeds as splutter add curry leaves, chopped red/ green chillies and sesame seeds. Pour this tadka on steamed dhokla. Cut into squares and serve.



- Serve/Relish Delicious Hot Farali Dhokla.
